Open Recruitment FOKUS, May 2016
All change is hard at first, messy in the middle, but will turn to be gorgeous in the end... -Robin Sharma-
Hai blogger... It's been a long time since I published my writing here in my personal blog. Very long time actually, lol.. I was busy with my campus project (cause I already on my way to the final year!) and I also do my job as a freelance translator :) However, here I am. Sitting in my so-comfy seat in Accounting Corner C6 Building, make a tak-tak sound above my keyboard. I have a lot of story to be shared, well, my own story, I know it's private but recently I face a lots of reality that hit me that much :'( and I need to write. But, I won't write about my sad or disappointed story. I am going to write about my happiness as a student in the final year :)
Since March 2016, I am officially elected as Manager of Student Development Division in a very new organization in my campus. It is FOKUS (Forum Kajian Akuntansi Unnes), an organization to develop accounting student's competence in accounting. I and my team (Mendi as my secretary, Kholis, Titin, Estu and Anita as my staff) have duties to elaborate the competence and skill in the organization and also the whole accounting student in Unnes.
Last May, my division held a big open recruitment to build Unnes Accounting Team. It was a huge open recruitment, joined by about 50 students and we only selected 12 person or 4 teams. It was difficult to elect, but we made it. I, Febri and Silvi as independence team had a commitment to create new culture we called competitiveness for accounting students in Unnes. Fyi, so far, accounting students in my campus seem to be passive, prefer work or study behind the table, and have no willingness to compete with other accounting students in others campus (which usually found in accounting competition). We three had a massive spirit to change this habit.

Well, as many changes will be, it was really hard at first and messy in the middle. We spent nights to prepare this open recruitment, planned the schedule, created program outcomes and made efforts to make the outcome to be true. I spent the nights by reviewing the applicants' works and did interview with some of my acquaintance for asking reference. And finally we made the group which are Maya and team, Mendi and team, Mara and team, and Nurul and team.
Our first project was trial and error, lol. I encouraged two teams (lead by Maya and Mendi) to join preliminary session of DASH (an accounting competition) and others team (Nurul and Mara) to join paper competition in DASH. I even shared my experience in joining accounting competition and also I taught them about some accounting lessons. I have a big expectancy for them, I don't know why, I just love my campus and I want to convince others that every accounting student is same no matter where they graduate from. I just want to claim that not-so-famous campus can create winners, because student's quality is simply depend on the student itself. Others attribute as campus, lecturers, and facilities play role as supplement only.
And.. we did it. I couldn't describe how my feeling is when I heard a very good news that all of the teams made it to the final round. I was happy, proud, speechless, so many adjective words happened to me. I realize that this is what happen to my special lecturer in my campus, Mr. Sandy. He always supports all Kimers in every competition, he always gives his hand, his advice and opinion about our paper. And when we go to the final, he will be really really happy, he will write it on his personal account and tell the world how glad he is. And I feel the same today. The time finally turns!
Well, guys out there.. I just want to write a saying.. When you are young, find your passion. Make sure you are in the place you fit in. Improve your ability. Be competitive, tell the world that you deserve to be someone. When you come to the final, make sure you share your skill to the younger, accompany them till they also come to the final. When all of us do this, could you imagine what the world will be? I share because I care and I love...
