I want to graduate, but I just can't complete my final project. I can't!

Hi all,

How’s life? I hope you have your joyful day :)

A lot of my university fellows asked me the same question, especially those in their final semester in the university. Yes, it is related to final project. Most of the questions refer to how to complete final project as soon as possible? How if we cannot finish our college in 4 years? How to overcome “sudden” laziness during the process?

Many friends of mine truly wanted to finish their final project as soon as possible. In my year, this was a competition among the students. Inevitable, because somehow it shows our greatest capability in the college. I was, to be honest, in this state too. Trying to complete mine as fastest as I could, but I failed. Well, there are many variables that contribute success in your final project. First, it is you. Everything starts with you. If you want to complete your tasks, you have to be highly determined. You need to cooperate with yourself and set the goal that you really want it. This is important as this belief creates self-confidence. You gotta find that you are on the right track if you do this. Second, create great relationship with your advisers. Since they will help you on your final project, you will frequently meet them. Understanding theirs characters is important, too. You will be able to have an intimate communication and win-win solution between your discussions. Third, don’t compare yours to others. If your friend completes his/her final project first, please try not to get down. Instead, make his/her achievement as your external motivation to do your best and finish yours too. Last, take a break. Have you ever heard about “writer’s block”? It is a common stuff happens for writers, so does with final project fighter. At some point, you may have no idea on what to write, even feeling disappointed with your work. It is okay, it means you have to take a rest. Go get your day off, eat your favorite food, watch your favorite movies, or simply hang out with your friends. Take out your high tension and stressful life, have your joyful moment. But, please noted not to take too long break. Once you get your mood back, continue your work. If you don’t do this, trust me, you will be forever in this rest and cannot find the way to continue what you have started before.

So, how if we cannot complete our final project in the last days in our 8th semester? Chills, the world won’t end, honey. I failed too, but I could overcome it. What did I do? I got rid all of negative comments all over my head. You will find either your peers or your lecturers asking “hey, what are you doing? Why don’t you finish your work and graduate?” To be honest, this was annoying and made me depressed. I hated myself for not being on time in finishing my final project. And this words-they-thought-as-motivation didn’t bring me any help. That is why I tried to live my own life. I have done my best, and I just need to keep going.

I understand that final project is our final task in college to get our degree. However, we don’t have to give so much pressure in our shoulder on this. Final project is not the end of your life, it is just, a path that you have to pass for creating another path to your future dream. So, please relax! You will graduate in the right time, have belief on this. Everyone has their own fate, so do us. Even, if you graduate in your 14th semester, you will graduate anyway. Your graduation time won’t affect you to get your dream job, or your dream business.

Keep going, your future won’t go anywhere as long as you do your best in life :)

Cheers!
